Agriculture is Life
Léona along with her four younger sisters succeeded their family farming operation in North Eastern Alberta; all the while continuing to pursue their education.
As an Agri-Business graduate of Olds College, Léona has developed her leadership skills and gained knowledge, as well as connections, within the agricultural industry around the world. She leads by setting an example and will share her experiences that exemplify how to take unimaginable change, adapt to it and succeed.
Success in Succession Planning
Léona will talk about the fundamentals of developing healthy relationships within the family farm business. She speaks from experience and as a Canadian Nuffield Scholar she's traveled the world learning about succession. She is passionate about celebrating life as it was in the past, as it is in the present and as it will be in the future. With a powerful message, she hopes to influence farm families to take a proactive approach in planning their estates. What’s your legacy?
Women in Agriculture
Where would agriculture be if it weren’t for the hard working women in the world? Léona has had the opportunity to meet young and mature farming women from Australia to India. She's volunteered with numerous organizations that gave the opportunity to meet some pretty incredible women with some remarkable stories. Her presentation will take you on a trip around the world and perhaps just leave you thinking that what matters the most in life are the things that are right in front of you.
Young Farmers - The Movers and Shakers
It's obvious that future opportunities are always going to belong to the next generation. So why is it that the older generation refuses to plan for the future?
How will young farmers persist in an ever challenging environment? Léona believes that the movers and shakers will break down these barriers and continue to create new paths giving them a world of opportunity. It takes an open mind, hard work and a little perspective on the world. Enjoy a presentation of how young farmers around the world are forging our tomorrow.
